Families and children who have sought refuge in Australia may face many challenges in creating a new life. These challenges can be practical, such as the difficulties in learning the language, finding work and settling in to a new community. There might also be emotional and psychological difficulties from the traumatic experiences that led people to seek refuge in the first place, as well as the journey to Australia itself.
